Terms of Service
These terms cover use of this website and set the baseline for how we work with clients. Every project also has its own written scope and agreement, which takes precedence for that project.
Last updated: 15 August 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
By using butterfly.rs or engaging Butterfly for services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services. Where a signed project agreement, statement of work, or written scope exists between us, that document governs the project and overrides anything here that conflicts with it.
2. What we do
Butterfly provides design and development services for online marketplaces, primarily on the Sharetribe platform, including:
- Custom marketplace design and development on Sharetribe.
- Migrations: Sharetribe no-code to self-hosted, Sharetribe GO to Flex, and moves from other platforms.
- Integrations such as payments, identity verification, shipping, tax, and AI-assisted features.
- Ongoing support, maintenance, and feature work, usually on a retainer.
- Technical consulting and code reviews.
The specific deliverables, timeline, and price for any engagement are set out in a written scope we send after a discovery call. Nothing on this website is a binding offer until it is in that scope. You can read about our process on the How we work page.
3. What we ask of clients
- Give us accurate requirements and timely feedback, so we can hit the timeline we agreed.
- Provide access to the accounts and content we need (for example Sharetribe, Stripe, domain, brand assets) when we need them.
- Pay agreed fees on the schedule in the project agreement.
- Ensure you have the rights to any content, data, or third-party material you give us to use in the project.
4. Intellectual property and code ownership
You own the code we write for your project. It lives in a repository under your control from the start, and ownership of the deliverables is yours upon payment as set out in the project agreement. You are free to take it to another team at any time.
Butterfly keeps ownership of its pre-existing tools, libraries, know-how, and generic components, and grants you a perpetual licence to use anything of ours that ends up in your project. Third-party software (including Sharetribe itself and any open-source packages) remains subject to its own licences.
Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, we may reference your project and show non-confidential parts of the work in our portfolio, case studies, and marketing. We will always check with you before publishing a case study.
5. Confidentiality
We treat your business information, credentials, and unreleased plans as confidential and use them only to do the work. We are happy to sign a mutual NDA before a discovery call if you prefer.
6. Third-party platforms
Our work depends on platforms and services we do not control, most notably Sharetribe and Stripe. Their availability, pricing, terms, and roadmap are theirs. We build to their documented capabilities and will tell you honestly when something is not possible or is likely to change.
7. Warranties and liability
We deliver our work with professional care and fix defects in what we built as agreed in the project terms. Beyond that, services are provided as described in the written scope, without further warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a project is limited to the fees you paid us for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for outages and changes in third-party platforms.
8. Using this website
The content on butterfly.rs is ours (or used with permission) and is provided for information. Please do not scrape it, misrepresent it as your own, or use the site to send us spam. Client logos and screenshots shown in case studies are used with those clients' knowledge.
9. Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Individual project agreements may specify a different governing law and dispute process, in which case that agreement applies to the project.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version. Changes do not affect signed project agreements already in place.
